(11-13-06) Things have been going close to perfect with justin on bass. We've recorded recently and have played out consistantly since late August. You may all join us on myspace at. www.myspace.com/queenaugust
(9-18-06) As of 2 months ago the band has added a new bassist Justin "Wookie" Reynolds. As of now we are preparing to re-enter the studio to put the finishing touches on our CD which will be complete very shortly.
(5-23-06) Queen August is in the process of recording it's first full length album entitled "Queen August". This cd should be available shortly. With Shawn back on the bass and the group tighter than ever, the next direction the band takes should be interesting.
(4-15-06) The band has added new bassist "Simon Moro". His new talents have done great things for us and we'll be back out playing may 13th at Crossroads. Recording for our album will start in two weeks and hopefully be finished within a month.
(3-10-06) The band has been doing great things and in this point of the band, it's the farthest we've ever reached. We're merely done with all of the pieces that were originally written, and now we've begun writing new pieces. The group dynamics are amazing and everyone works as a team and feels one another out like brothers. The band will consistantly continue to play live and next month, we will record our first album. With Dave, Frank, Don, Gene (Dad) on the team, how can we go wrong?
(1-9-06) Queen August is reformed and will be playing their first gig at a battle of the bands at the Dulles State office building in Watertown on February 3rd. Starting time soon to be updated.
(12-14-05) New lineup... Updates next week. :-)
(11-18-05) Work on the first Queen August album will be underway shortly. I have decided to create a debut album for the band featuring the staple tracks from the band's live performances as well as two additional pieces that I have written in the time that has passed since the band's lineup departure. I am going to acquire a great deal of the band's previous musicians from all lineups and record this album using them. I would ideally love to have the following musicians back into the studio to record this piece. Tim Martuzas, Steve Denner, Matt Laclaire, Andy Pappas, Santino Cappuccetti, AJ Cleary, Josh Allen, Tim Markwick as well as guitar great Don Denardo and violinist, Janaine Stephens. If it is possible to incorporate all of these players, this album will be extremely excellent! I am making contact daily with these guys and I am in hopes to get the rehearsals started next week and the recording started sometime mid-december. Regardless of the outcome of musicians, this album will be created before I leave for New York City. Queen August means more to me than most anything and it will continue to live strong in the big apple where the lineup will return!
(10-18-05) I am writing an epic piece for the group that will surely surpass anything else I have written ever. This piece is more in detail with my emotional side and will be crafted with precision and devotion. I will be looking for members to fill the group, but until then I will join Martuzas in his studio to record this piece. He will play electric guitar and bass, Santino on drums, and yours truly on keyboards, Acoustic guitar, vocals, and percussion. I am back to life... It's amazing!
(10-02-05) Not a lot going on music wise with the band at this point. I will be out advertising in the near future for some serious musicians. The orchestral project still hasn't come off the ground due to the lack of drive in one of the players. I've dealt with a lot of good changes for myself and this will bring me to a higher level musically in the long run. Wherever the road takes me, Queen August will still survive. I find the band more alive than ever... strange huh?
(9-5-05) Close to a month has gone by and I have stayed musically dormant. A great change has occured in my life and I feel like my musical ability is about to soar to new heights. I am going to start writing progressive music more in orchestral form, using stringed instruments. I have some musicians lined up in the near future and we'll be playing in select venues. I am also looking for some REAL musicians to join Queen August who know more than two chords! 783-7765. The show must go on, one way or another. Tempus Fugit!
(8-16-05) I'm sorry to inform everyone that Queen August has disbanded once again. Just a month ago we were back on our feet, but sadly are down to me again. AJ is entirely to blame for all of this. He screwed this band once and I should have known he would do it again. Mark my words... When this band gets on it's feet again, I will never look for AJ Cleary nor have a positive thing to say about him. A great player, a horrible person. Because of AJ's leave, Matt and Bruce were dismissed. I will take a while off and go back out in search for Queen August. I apologise to those we were booked to play for. It makes this band's reputation look bad as well as mine.
(8-08-05) It isn't too much longer and we will be back out playing live. Our first gig is at Dellinger's Last Stop off Exit 49 in Theresa. (It's the sunoco gas station if any of you didn't know). We have been working our asses off getting every bit of every song ready. We have revamped a few pieces as well to make them better for this lineup. Dance of the Turtle also contains lyrics and is no longer an instrumental. The band chemistry is wonderful and things are perfect at this point. I hope everyone joins us on the 20th for our re-debut!
(7-26-05) Another fantastic night of practice with the band. We finally finished "For What Relief", or it's structure anyway and chose to record it on cassette tape. The tape came out horrible due to analog quality and my lack of recording knowledge. AJ and I during "Skies Divide" felt the magic of the group's chemistry and the connection we're all making musically. Matt and Bruce are working incredible. Bruce's drive to create beats and patterns beyond the norm fit nicely and are a huge change from the previous lineup's drummers. Matt is always working himself harder and harder to become a master bass player. Although mastering is impossible, he's already a step beyond all of the others the band has had. Everything is working wonderfully and as we had coffee tonight at our favorite diner, we met some inspiration. A friend of Ronnie James Dio sat and talked with us in his SUV and gave us some encouragement on our musical escapade. We're all excited and look at it as a sign. And it may well be...
(7-21-05) We have a gig set up for August 20th at Dellinger's Last Stop. This is the grand opening for the gas station and we will get some radio publicity as well. This is less than a month away so we have to get a move on!
(7-20-05) The first practice with the new lineup proved the potential this group of musicians have as a band. Matt and Bruce are already locking in as a rhythm section and Aj and I love the sound that these two bring to the fold. Only time will tell how far we can grow!
(7-18-05) I can proudly say that Queen August has a complete lineup once again. And even better than that, AJ is back!!!! I am so happy to be back with such a talented musician who brings life back to the band most thought as dead. AJ and I, joined by Bruce Elmer (DRUMMER) and Matt Laclaire (BASS), will be back out playing live very shortly. Adding elements from both Queen August lineups as well as creating new elements for the existing pieces. The new material that will be created could prove to be even more unique. Updates will follow... Stay tuned!
(7-12-05) Queen August will be complete again in just a few more days. Updates will follow shortly!!!!!
(5-20-05) Working on another piece for Queen August as well as getting back into reworking the band. A few musicians have contacted me on interest with this project and progressive music in general. This will mean Queen August will be rolling for the summer again.... Yay!- Gino
(5-1-05) This band has seen it's musicians come and go, and for many reasons. Tim called the other day and said he couldn't make practice because he didn't feel like it. This has been consistant and finally i've had enough. I fired Paul, Tim, and Tony and will be keeping Queen August at an idle state until I can find musicians who will commit and take their time to craft serious music. So be told that Queen August is not dead, it is on hold until I fill in the gaps. In the mean time i'm plauing with Don Denardo and will be doing an 80's cover band. If interested in joining Queen August, we're looking for a guitarist, Bassist, and drummer. 783-7765. Let us rest for now...
(4-26-05) We've been working hard at each practice to incorporate Andy and Tony into the already existing pieces. Changes need to be made again in this band and they will soon be apparent. Last week Queen August turned a year old and throughout that whole year i've worked as hard as I possibly could have to establish a super band. Eventually this group of musicians will surface and I hope then my dreams for Queen August, Theirs, and of course our fans, will become reality. To another year! - Gino
(4-19-05) I am more than happy to announce that Queen August has found both a lead singer and a guitarist. Andy Pledger is back on lead vocals and is already adding much to the band's music. Last evening we added a local guitarist by the name of Tony who's style adds much dimension to the music. It appears the group is back on its feet and it won't be long until they debut once again.
(4-10-05) Sorry for the lack of updates. We've auditioned a few guitarists since, but none have met our expectations. We continue to work as a three piece though and work hard to create great music. We will keep looking for a guitarist who can fit an original sound into our music. Updates will follow...
(3-22-05) Guitar great Jay Brown passed away sunday. We all knew Jay well and his charisma and extraordinary personality will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace our friend...
(3-10-05) Sorry to have kept everyone waiting on updates. Queen August has definitly done what it does best, made changes for the better. The drum seat has been filled by a very skilled drummer from Vermont. Paul Manfretti is an excellent addition to the band and not only because of his skill. He has the motivation to get this band going further than it has in the past and present. He has learned a significant amount of the repetoire very quickly and is about a week away from where Steve was in progress when he left. Another change involves Tim Martuzas. Tim's guitar skills added great things to Queen August and the time we had with him was excellent. Unfortunatly Tim couldn't manage two days a week of practice and because of this, a new guitarist will fill his spot. There are no hard feelings and we will look forward to working with Tim for our live sound and recording. The band is far from discouraged about Tim's leave though. A notable musician from the area known as Chad Fishell (SP) will be auditioning on Monday. He has heard the material and is very interested in the project. If Chad is our man, we will be better than ever in no time at all and our goal of playing live every weekend will soon come to happen. Updates will follow, as they always do...
(2-29-05) Since the departure of Steve, the search is on for a replacement for such a vital asset. We tried out Jay Gravelle, but had no luck with that. Tomorrow we have practice and a drummer to audition as well. His name is Paul and he seems to have his shit together in terms of what music he likes and what his standards are. The band has had a bit of an offtime up until now, so I think we need to get back to work. I have a few pieces of music to throw into the fold that may prove to go beyond what we currently have. Updates will follow...
(2-26-05) Sadly I must report that Steve Denner has left the band for personal reasons. We all had a great time with Steve and will not only miss his technical ability, but his great personality and friendly disposition. We are currently working with notable local drummer Jay Gravelle and are in hopes he will learn the material and choose to join. Of course the story continues if he doesn't and other auditions will commence. Tim will be back from his break Monday and practices begin once again.
(2-15-05) The gig in Carthage went well, but we hope to do better on our next run. We will be practicing as a three piece for the next two weeks while Martuzas takes a little break because of family issues. We'll be trying to include "Roundabout" into our set of covers while trying to learn the originals," Warehouse" and "Dance of the Turtle". Check out the picture page on this site because we have new pictures from the gig saturday. Updates will follow...
(2-7-05) Our first gig is just a few days away and we have the official set list provided for you. We will play all originals and to add to the time, a progressive cover. The gig is at 1:OO in the afternoon at recreation park in Carthage. This is located outside of town heading out of downtown carthage. We will be located in the recreation building in the park. We play an hour so get there early so nothing is missed. We have two more rehearsals before our gig, so we have to quickly get ready. Hope to see our fans there.
Set List: D.I.D, Exerpt from Dance of the Turtle (Tim's piece), Leaves of Autumn, Beast upon a Hill, Tom Sawyer (Rush), For What Relief?
(2-2-05) We finally have recordings of the new portion of the band. We recorded these monday night at Tim's house. They were done live, and still may be rough, but the quality music and skill is apparent. We hope you enjoy them and more will be available soon.
(2-1-05) And of course like we've all seen in the past, people just don't work out. Howard decided that he couldn't make the commitment. We will search for a singer to start after this first gig. It's less than two weeks away and we need to get ready for it. I welcome all of our old fans out to see us even if we haven't stayed in contact.
(1-28-05) After a night of practicing at our temporary locale, we have found our singer. Howard Brinson, who plays guitar and sings in an acoustic group with Tim on the side, is the perfect candidate. He will join us starting on monday as we start preparing for our debut gig.
(1-25-05) Queen August will be playing a gig on February 12th in the town of Carthage. There will be an estimate of a thousand people at this event and we're the headlining band. More updates will continue on the exact location of this event.
(1-21-05) We're ahead of schedule and everyone is very into playing. The musicianship is second to none and it helps a lot when getting everyone to learn the material the guys and I played prior. I recieved a phone call today from a gentleman asking if we would play a chamber of commerce function on Carthage. I think we're getting close to ready and this may be the debut of the new guys. I tried getting pictures wednesday but we have to wait until monday. We will have this groups songs online at the end of next week. For the meantime, enjoy the Eagles club recordings that were done when AJ, Andy, and Josh were here.
(1-6-05) We;ve been working on a piece that Markwick had started a riff for. It's a great number and stands to be more heavy than any of our other pieces. A good number of meter changes that took a bit for some of us to get down. We have practice this evening and it should be another productive night. As you can see, I finally added a few tracks from the playhouse. These tracks are poor in quality, but the music is exceptional. The longest track,"For What Relief" went better than the rest but it wouldn't load because of its size. I hope you enjoy them and note that the current members and I will be releasing a demo shortly.
(12-29-04) Practice was again very productive and when the next practice comes around, we will have group pictures instead of the lovely shots of myself. "For What Relief" is coming together nicely and it sounds much better than it had before. We've also been working on a harder prog piece that Markwick had designed. It is very "King Crimson" as Steve and I have labeled it. I couldn't ask for better people to work with and very soon we will have recordings available for your listening pleasure.
(12-19-04) A great day of practice with the boys and the music is coming together better each time we get together. Working with these guys keeps me on my toes and makes me work harder to get better musically. Updates will follow!
(12-13-04) Queen August has a full lineup once again and no longer will I have to nurse the musicians in the band along. The new players are magnificant and we'll be playing live shortly. The band is better than ever!
(12-5-04) I think things are better than they ever were. Queen August may have a full lineup coming this wednesday. Tim Markwick, definitly the most skilled bassist I have ever seen play wants to join up and play. Tim Martusich, a great guitarist from watertown and Steve Denner, an excellent drummer i've played with before will also be coming over this wednesday. If the chemistry is right, we will start rehearsing two or three days a week and will be playing out again in no time. This is by far a better group of musicians than before. I am very excited to be playing music with these people and will update as soon as I get a definite lineup.
(11-29-04) Still playing harder than ever and looking for members to fill the empty spots. I sat in with R-19 last night in Harrisville and played some good old covers. It was a great night with my buddy Tim, my two uncles, and my dad. I've had a few musicians audition as well as sit in with me in the last few weeks. Still nobody can take the place of Josh and AJ. I am really in hopes these two want to get back into things, AJ especially. A gentleman named Adam, who plays bass is very excited and already learned the structure to did today. Things aren't all that bad and i'll keep pushing to make things better.
(11-20-04) Sadly I must inform everyone that Queen August is down to one member and it's obviously the one posting this. Josh and AJ decided that their time with the band was over due to reasons they could not back. Both Josh and AJ have hurt me more than I could express here. Regardless of this, I will push on and continue Queen August. I love music way too much to give it up and the band's name will survive. I meet up with Adam Netto tomorrow at the ole' studio and we start working. He'll be playing guitar and from what I have heard, he's a great musician. I hope you'll all come with me for the ride... Queen August Chapter 2....
- Gino
(11-18-04) The drummer who auditioned was far from the reputation he had been given. The band continued this week to write more music and adjust to the lack of a drummer. We are also happy to inform everyone that our official website will be up in a few weeks. Maybe by then we'll have a drummer... Haha!
(11-14-04) Queen August have been working hard as a three piece in practices. We have written most of a new piece that seems to have pushed our technicality even further. Once it is finished this will be presented at our next live show. On another positive note, a drummer will be auditioning for the band tomorrow. It has been said that his drumming abilities are amazing and he may be just what we're looking for. If Queen August acquires a drummer at the same level as the other members, this could be a wonderful thing.
(11-8-04) The Jack Tooly gig was the final gig with drummer Andy Pappas. We did very well at this gig and it was recorded as well. We should have in available on the site in a few short weeks. The Playhouse recordings should be up in the next days and these will be the first recordings featuring AJ on guitar. Since Andy has departed, we will be looking for a new drummer to take his place. We welcome everyone to audition and we'll hopefully find a replacement. We will miss Andy and Queen August would never be where it is if it weren't for him. Writing new material will begin this week and last for a few weeks.
(11-3-04) The gig on Halloween went excellent. We had a decent crowd and we played better than we ever have. We didn't end up getting paid due to Niche Manager Derek and Mike of the Playhouse. As shitty as this is, we hold no grudges with the members of The Niche and next time this won't happen. I would like to thank everyone who came out to see us and I hope they join us this weekend at the benefit for Jack Tooly. This will be Saturday at the Eagles club in watertown. All ages are welcome and there will be an aray of musicians there throughout the day. Queen August will be playing around 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening and hopefully we'll have an hour to play. As for Andy leaving, we won't know until this weekend.
(10-30-04) Queen August is ready to play their gig with The Niche tomorrow evening at the Lake Ontario Playhouse. Dispite criticism, we will prove to have a great night of music and we welcome everyone down to share this night of music with us and The Niche. The show starts at 6 P.M! Hope to see everyone there.
(10-25-04) The last week before our gig with The Niche. We've prepared things quite well and this promises to be our best performance yet. This will most likely be the last gig with Andy Pappas on the kit. Santino Cappuccetti is beginning to learn and craft drum parts for the pieces and will probably be the replacement for Andy. Also this weekend, Queen August will be playing at Gino's cousin's Halloween party. The Dave Knight Experience will also perform there. A great weekend of music is ahead and we hope many of our friends and family will join us.
(10-15-04) Queen August will be playing at a benefit for Mr. Jack Tooley on November 6th. All proceeds go toward medical expenses for Mr.Tooley. More information will follow.
Our big gig is coming up at the playhouse in just a few short weeks. We want to be able to show everyone that music isn't dead, it still breathes in a few musicians. The reason we play what we play is accredited to the real musicians of the day. Bands like Yes, Genesis, ELP, The Beegees, Elton John, John Denver... All musicians we respect and grew up with. You won't find us playing anything like some of those groups, but the initial heart that they had into their music is crafted into our pieces. I would also like to take this time to thank everyone who continually supports us. Steve Denner, Tim Markawick, Tim Martuzas, Don Dinardo, Steve Morley,*Linda, Dell, Marian... and so many other musicians. My dad and mom have also been especially supportive of music that sometimes they wish they understood. Queen August will rise and it's due to passion... the passion to create technical and meaningful music... and to bestow this to the populous.
(10-11-04) The gig in Carthage went especially well with our newly acquired AJ Cleary on guitar. A few of our old fans came out to see us as well. The weather was poor so playing up to speed was a bit of a challenge. Overall it was a great gig and we will have many more to look forward to. We also would like to announce that Andy Pappas, our drummer, is going to be leaving the band once we find a replacement for him. His busy schedule has kept him from a strong commitment and he will be leaving on good terms. So as of now, Queen August are looking for a replacement drummer. If interested, call 783-7765. Other than that, more practices begin this week as well as writing new music.
(10-3-04) Queen August will be attending a business opportunity gig this weekend in Carthage. We will play for about an hour in total at this gig. We should be starting at around 11, but I will have the specifics by the end of this week. I wanted to also announce that "The Dave Knight Experiance" will be opening for us. This group is comprised of friends Arison Londraville and Brett Ramus. More details will be available in the next few days.
(9-27-04) New recordings will be available very shortly. "D.I.D" and "Leaves of Autumn" will be recorded once again as well as the theatrical piece "Beast upon a hill". Check back soon for these new recordings.
(9-21-04) Intense practices begin this week. Andy, AJ, Josh, and Gino will prove to be a powerful music force and these practice sessions will prove this. After cleaning up current pieces as a four piece, the band will begin writing new material together. Many look forward to their upcoming gigs in October and November. Queen August is here...
(9-16-04) We have finally confirmed the Halloween gig with "The Niche". We are very pleased to be playing with a band of their stature and both Queen August and The Niche promise to present an excellent night of music.
(9-13-04) Queen August have a guitarist by the name of AJ Cleary. Surprisingly AJ is from Watertown, so we didn't have to look far. His skill is far beyond any of the guitarists we have played with in our age group. Our team is so powerful now and I wonder whether the local music scene is ready for Queen August....
(9-9-04) After speaking to Willie, the keyboardist from the Niche, the odds are pretty good that we'll be opening for them at the Lake Ontario Playhouse on Halloween this year. We have the strength to impress so many people around here and the Niche are the ideal band to do it with. As for Scott the singer, he didn't work out. Updates will follow...
(9-8-04) We have been progressing so much in so little time. We started reconstructing an old song Josh and I wrote in the band "Arion". We had written this song some time ago and have been fixing it up with Pappas on the kit. The song "Warehouse" will be an excellent addition to our set. We would also like to announce that we have a singer! Scott Taylor, a friend of Andy's, auditioned and made the band. He has a week to get everything up to a solid level, but we believe he will be Queen August's lead singer. We've also spoken to some of our connections and we will possibly open for "The Niche" at the Lake Ontario Play house on Halloween this year. Things are looking up...
(8-31-04) Shooties was a nightmare to say the least. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we all looked in horror at the miserable setting. We walked inside and some guy told us that we had to pay a 2$ cover charge to play for people because we were under 21. I refused to pay any price to play to a bar full of drunks. So we spoke to some guy in charge and he said we didn't have to pay. Still discontent with both the music people were playing and the setting, the Mike kid who auditioned on guitar a few weeks ago, and sucked might I add, started trouble with me. So here I am outside with this kid screaming at me about kicking my ass and people around us encouraging a fight. So of course a fight broke out and I beat the kid around a bit. In all honesty though, I was the bigger fool for fighting the kid anyway. All in all, shooties bar is definitly not a place I ever care to play in regardless of fights. On the side though.... Mark Getman may fill our singer spot. He is a very talented musician and a great singer... I really hope he chooses to play with us. Practices commence again tomorrow... Updates will follow...- Gino
(8-28-04) The party we played at went pretty well in my our opinion. We played to a group of people who normally listen to country or Lynyrd Skynyrd, so we were a stretch for them. A lot of the people were amazed by our skill and the beauty of our songs and we were pleased with that. Our next appearance will surprisingly be at Jam night at Shooties on Tuesday of this coming week... Maybe we'll find a singer or a guitarist there if we're lucky.
(8-27-04) We only recorded two of our songs tonight and the quality isn't super due to the equipment we used. Basically these demonstrate the work we've done lately and that's what our fans want to see. Once we acquire both a singer and a guitarist we will record efficient music on this site. Enjoy the recordings and feel free to give us feedback on what you think by emailing us. In other news, we play a party tomorrow evening and are also appearing at Jam night at Shooties on Tuesday. We'll see what Watertown thinks of our music. Updates will follow...
(8-26-04) The gig was a major success. So many people came and they loved our music. We played covers and people loved our music more. No more covers for us, just original music. This band is going places... and this pleases us all so much. More writing and practices in weeks to follow as well as possible gigs. ALSO: Gig saturday night at private party. :-)- Gino
(8-21-04) The gig is getting closer and we have quite a bit of people showing up for this event. Not only will we be playing our music, but a list of covers we decided to be good. I will display this list in a few days along with the names of our original compositions.
(8-15-04) Andy is working wonderfully as the band's drummer. He has already started to fit perfectly into our songs and will remain working hard to get things ready for our upcoming debut gig. We auditioned yet another guitarist this week. He lacked in skill and was set on an emo style of music... figure that one out. So with that, our guitarist search continues. As a three piece though, the music still sounds great. Updates will follow along with pictures tomorrow.... - Gino
(8-12-04) We auditioned a drummer today and he made the band. Andy Pappas will be Queen August's drummer. A jazz drummer at heart, Andy will fit the band nicely. Bio and pictures added soon.
(8-11-04) New recordings will be available on this page in just a week or so. We've worked hard and perfected many of our songs. Because we write our own music, we strive to get it right. We will be performing at an open practice session in our very own practice hub. This will take place at the end of the month. It will be open to all who would like to hear our progress throughout the summer. If our guitar and singer position isn't filled by then, we will incorporate session musicians. Send an email if you plan to attend this performance so room can be reserved. Please note that occupancy is already being filled, so email us at AlexandGino@hotmail.com and let us know if you plan to attend.- Josh and Gino
(8-9-04) We played with Steve and Don yesterday and things went great. We're unsure if we're going to use them for Queen August, or possibly another project. They're both incredible musicians, so it would work both ways. Along with working on our own material, we practiced "Cinema Show" and "Firth of Fifth", Two Early Genesis songs. Things are good, just very hectic at this time.
(8-3-04) Josh and I continue to craft great music in hopes that we'll find a drummer and guitarist to fit the spots. It seems that Steve and Don will play with us in a prog cover band instead of doing originals. Auditions for guitarists and drummers have been occuring without any luck. If interested, call 783-7765 for information.
(7-23-04) A very respected drummer named Steve Denner will be a possible candidate for the drum seat we're looking to fill. We've already jammed with him before and he's the best drummer i've ever played with. His friend, Don Dinardo, a guitarist from watertown, will possibly take Alex's spot. Alex will be leaving the band and joining me on a side project where we can play more accessible music. Both Steve and Don are prog lovers who have been playing music for years. If these two join the band, we'll be an amazing force of musicians. Another practice with these two musicians will happen saturday. News will follow....
(7-19-04) Josh has a new bass and it's kick ass. This bass is so much better than the one used in the recording of "D.I.D". As we gain better equipment, we will better our chances of playing out sooner.
(7-14-04) Tomorrow evening and hopefully every thursday and sunday, Queen August will be playing on Wellesley island at the hotel's bar in T.I park. Tomorrow we will play two of our originals due to the lack of our guitarist who seems to be in New Jersey for the next few days. We start at 8 P.M .... Come join us!
An experianced drummer named Joel called me today and wants to join the band. We are very excited and practiced hard tonight to get our shit together for the audition on thursday. Hopefully this guy is as good as he says he is because it could add a vital component to the group and we could be on our feet and out on the music scene. Hard practice tomorrow, updates will continue.- Gino
(7-4-04) Happy Independence Day! We're busting our asses more and more to craft works of art, and we're doing pretty well. We still manage to work regardless of a drummer. We auditioned a drummer last week, but he was unable to relate to the music. We'll find that perfect drummer to fit the spot and once that happens, we'll debut. This week will be full of hard practices... Practice makes perfect.- Gino
(6-25-04) Big practice tomorrow as our drummer search continues. On a side note, we let Drop Dead Ugly know what we really think of their music. We were either waiting for a show to humiliate them or finally telling them we really thought they sucked. When we debut, these show bands will know their place. We love music and we practice hard to portray this love. Time will tell...
(6-23-04) Evidently Santino's heart isn't into the music we play. We've found him slipping on his drum skills over the last few weeks regardless of his attitude toward other band members. He is no longer apart of Queen August and has left on bad terms. We will commence the hunt for a worthy drummer. If interested, call 783-7765 and ask for Gino. Auditions will begin thursday. Santino's leave is for the best and we are all very pleased with the decision.

(6-19-04) Our search for a drummer continues. It isn't so much that we can't find drummers for the band, but finding a good drummer is the problem. Most drummers I know can't keep up with the pace of our music. We will keep searching. We have crafted our epic track to a certain point and its wonderful. We will continue to perfect it until it's fit to our liking. Someone asked us if we wish we chose to play simple music like what everyone else is playing now that we are confronted with all of this work. We all laughed at the thought of being another "Ready Set Fail" or any of the other bands with those generic images. Updates will continue...
(6-18-04) Practice commenced today with Mark Getman on the drum throne. He will play for us until we get a permanent drummer to take his spot. Our music is forming very well and our epic piece," For what relief?" will be finished in days. Because of the rude antics of those from the band "The common loss" we have been hesitant to play with such bands. The other band that we were suppose to play with this weekend, "Drop dead ugly", have not made any attempt to contact us on a joint gig. If they fail to call by the weekend to schedule something, we'll move to another source. By the whole, things have been excellent for us. - Josh
(6-17-04) Tomorrow is the start of the new line-up for Queen August. This seems to be a pretty solid group of players, so I can honestly feel content for now. As for a gig this weekend, I doubt that will happen. Because of the rude mannerisms of those who were suppose to share a show with us, we will not play with them. Updates will continue.
(6-7-04) It's been pretty hectic for the band in the last few weeks due to the lack of practice. Santino has been removed from the group and Mark Getman, the drummer from the group "Arion" will be temporarily replacing him. We are very excited to have Mark drum our gig on the 19th. If everything goes right, we will debut at this gig.
(5/20/04) We are very sorry for not recording and uploading new songs this weekend. The band found themselves at a party saturday evening and an individual from this party gave us quite a bit of trouble. Not getting home until late in the morning sunday, we decided not to record. We will hopefully upload the songs this weekend or during next week. - Gino
(5/9/04) Next weekend we will be uploading two new songs to this site. "Leaves of Autumn" and a complete version of "D.I.D". It is pretty safe to say that "D.I.D" will become an instrumental track when it's complete. ----- Practices have been very productive and even after two weeks of practicing, we will soon be ready to begin playing about the area. If anyone is interested in sitting in on a practice, email us, we would be happy to permit this. --- Gino
(5/4/04) We have finally found a lead singer! Andrew Pledger from Alexandria Bay is Queen August's singer and very fitting for the part. Now that all the positions are filled, we'll start heavy rehearsing and will hopefully be on stage in a few short weeks. - Gino
(5/2/04) The Battle of the Bands in Watertown was very distasteful. The emo, the punk, the lack of true talent. Half of the time you couldn't understand the lyrics, not that they would have been important anyway. The same old simple music with simple lyrics. Soon, we shall strike more than 4 chords in the local music community. And remember, disclaimers are important. :-) - Josh
MP3 NOTES: D.I.D is the current rough recorded MP3 available. Since Alex was located in Ohio and Santino was unable to drum that evening, Josh played bass guitar and Gino played keyboard. Though it has its rough spots, this version of D.I.D. provides the actual structure for the song. In a short time, a better version will be available including the beautiful Alex on guitar and the excellent drummer Santino.

I don\'t think I\'ve ever heard music quite like this.
It\'s interesting. :)
