Violent and emotional, New Orleans' own In Tomorrow's Shadow goes for the jugglar and seldom misses. Formed in 2003, the band takes thier art form beyond the usually stagnant quagmire of simplistic metal. In Tomorrow's Shadow knows better than that. Vocalist Mike Karayane, guitarist Taylor Jonau, guitarist Kevan Benson, bassist Kyle Barras, and drummer Julian McCarthy build their piercing anthems around progressive riffs and complex break downs. Karayane's mix of emotional song-writing is often covered with layers of thrashing, gut-wrenching vocal precision, leading to dark anthems of loss and anger. Although their earliest recordings feel a bit rushed and lack a level of production quality, In Tomorrow's Shadow's latest efforts show true signs of artistic maturity and a determination to create hardcore metal with a greater sense of precision. Fans looking for something with a bit more depth than your usual run of the mill metal, should check out this band.
